Is this the only site where you've seen problems playing videos?

Do you know whether these are just regular MP4 videos, or whether they use a newer form of compression?

Hello jsher2000, thank you for your reply. YouTube videos are playing fine. I am working in a job portal where the technician will upload videos, this seems to be the only place where I am having difficulty seeing the video. Now when I open Chrome and log in to the work portal I can hear the videos but not see them. Videos are being uploaded by a iPhone 14 plus. Thanks

It's possible the person who shot the video used "HEVC" / "H.265" compression. Microsoft has posted a CODEC add-on in the Microsoft App Store, in case there is no other obvious way to get support for this CODEC:

There is also a paid listing which may or may not be identical to the free one:

If you need a non-paid solution, assuming you can download the videos, you probably can view them with VLC:

Thanks for the info. So I bought that HEVC Video Extension but unfortunately it didn't do anything. I got on the phone with Microsoft Customer Service and what we did figure out is that the only browser I can play and see the videos is if I am using Microsoft Edge. It is a browser I never use, but for now I will need to use it for this one application. The tech did not know why I can only see it on that browser but not Chrome and Firefox. Any insight on why that might be? I am just happy that at least I have one solution albeit not the one I was hoping for. Thanks

Hmm, that's useful to know. Is it possible to tell what CODEC the video uses that gives other browsers trouble? That could help in searching for a bug report, although it may not have a workaround.

I am not a tech savvy person, but I am happy to provide you with that info if you could provide me with the steps to find out the CODEC info.

That's a good question. I have no idea about what information is available in Edge. Are you able to save the video to disk? If so, the file properties panel may tell you. Or the Windows Media Player might tell you.
