keyboard shortcut for tab groups doesnt work

When I try CRTL+ ` to switch Tab Groups (with the Tab Groups extension), nothing happens. What am I missing?

It seems I was confusing an old FF feature that no longer exists and a new add on that doesnt work as planned.
