1.Select the worksheets that you want to hide.

( When multiple worksheets are selected, [Group] appears in the title bar at the top of the worksheet. To cancel a selection of multiple worksheets in a workbook, click any unselected worksheet. If no unselected sheet is visible, right-click the tab of a selected sheet, and then click Ungroup Sheets on the shortcut menu)

2.On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click Format > Visibility > Hide & Unhide > Hide Sheet.

3.To unhide a worksheet, follow the same steps, but select Unhide. You'll be presented with a dialog box listing which sheets are hidden, so select the one you want to unhide.

If you have the "List all tabs" button visible at the right end of the Tab bar then you should see the selected tab in the drop-down list.

Hopefully, I'm trying to find a simple/efficient way to do this. Something to bring the tab into view.

I used to have a custom button that did the task, but it no longer works in Fx 70.01.

The problem with "List all tabs" is that it doesn't highlight the active tab, so your just scrolling randomly until you come across it, and hopefully you don't miss it. If you've got several hundred tabs, this is an unpleasant task.

I know there are tabs managers that will do the job, but, for example, in the process of building profiles, I may not yet have theses sorts of addons installed.

"List all tabs" highlights the currently selected tab for me (actually it is bold), so it is easy to spot.

Doesn't that work for you ?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Hi noel_envode, I don't see any extensions for this, which suggests there isn't an official API for it.

The most obvious way is a double-switch. For example, if you have Ctrl+Tab on the default setting of switching to the previous tab, doing that twice in a row will scroll the tab bar to the current tab.

If you set Ctrl+Tab to the previous behavior of scrolling forward along the tab bar, it's harder because you need to add Shift to scroll back. Instead, you can use an add-on to add a button or keyboard shortcut to switch tabs. Mine is: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/switch-to-previous-active-tab/
