Problem: clear cache on exit

FF does not clear the cache (history, cookies etc.) on exit although I ticked the box in the settings. This is on two different devices! I have this problem ever since the option was made available in FF on android. Can anyone ease help? Thanks!

What makes you believe that your browsing data is being retained?
