this error message comes when sending e-mails since the last update. How can I fix this.

The message is from your email provider's server. So you should talk to them. It has got nothing to do with a Thunderbird update.

Things you can try to avoid this are

  • compose messages in plain text instead of HTML
  • avoid HTML signatures
  • avoid including files in signatures
