How can I enable to back button on this site?

I was searching for accessibility fixes, and clicked to open one of the articles in a new tab. Instead, it opened in the same tab, so I clicked back to return to the search. It went to this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/ instead of the search results. *Why break the back button, either on the site or in the browser?*

MarjaE, you can also right click on the back button to choose the page in your history to go back to if there is a redirect causing an issue.
