Have loaded Thunderbird 38.0b6 to Windows 7 64bit, added Google Calendar 1.0.4 via Install Add-On from file - Cannot get Google Icon or access - I have not added Lightning as is already part of 38.0b6 as I understand. Says "Restart" after loaded but after restart nothing changes ? Thunderbird calendar (2) OK - Help please. Everything else works real well.

Ah but can you see Lightning? Indeed, it is included in a new clean install of Thunderbird, but if you have updated from an existing installation it will simply retain your previous choice and you need to explicitly add Lightning. You say that the Thunderbird calendar is OK, so I guess that's a "yes"

I'm not a big fan of this addon since Thunderbird/Lightning can synch directly with Google Calendar.

Have you tried to add the Google Calendar? File|New|Calendar?
