My Thunderbird just updated to the new 102 version. On my old version, I had folders for my old email address (6 or more years ago) where I could view some old emails I saved. I can't seem to find those folders now. I can, when composing a new message, click on the arrow by the FROM and pick the old email address. But of course that ISP is long gone.

If you updated from 91 to 102, or moved your profile, while Thunderbird is down, delete folderCache.json in your thunderbird profile

I have the exact same problem as Mike Dunton, but I'm afraid I do not understand Wayne's reply. (I also updated from 91 to 102.) Thanks for any clarification.

By gosh, it worked. Amazing! A search couldn't turn up folderCache.json, but I found it in ~Library>Thunderbird>Profiles>02m66mo2.default. (This last destination might be specific to my system [10.14.6, MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)]; I had saved it elsewhere since it had rescued me in the past.) I now have my 6000+ archived emails back. Thank you, Wayne!!
