Tried to update Firefox first with AOL for Mac version then thru Mozilla with 37.0.1 for iMac 27 with OSX 10.7.5 a box appeared in both cases in the top middle of Firefox with what looks like a text line with a checkbox underneath. This prevents any use of Firefox. Please help ????

After, look in your computers Programs Folder, and do the same thing.

This is caused by an AOL addon to firefox. Please do the following:

  • Start firefox in "safe mode" by holding down the option key while opening firefox. This will temporarily disable the addon so that you can use firefox.
  • Type "about:addons" in the location bar and click "extensions". From that list, click "remove" for any addons that say "AOL" or that you don't recognize.
  • restart firefox (not in safe mode)

Actually solved by reading related info that told me I had an obsolete blocking message and needed to update my Flash Player Plugin. Thank you, without your original message, I never would have solved the problemGHeilweil said
