Running slow on Mac

Just in the last few days, my Thunderbird email client has been running very slow. While I type messages, it is delayed entirely. And often time, the program freezes and gives me waiting signal. I have Mac OS. I don't remember when this began happening, but it has definitely been since the last OS update, not before, if that could be an issue.

fritztscott had you tried Thunderbird safe mode? And have you solved your problem?

Yes, and sorry to be late replying. Not sure at this range what fixed it but OK now.
