Good for you to have figured that out - and thank you so much for reporting it here. Might be very helpful to others  !

Looks like cor-el was on the right track with that last post about tracking protection .......

Hi  !

I went to that site and the image loads for me ....

Have you tried this : When you're on that site, click on the 'i' in a circle, next to the padlock at the left side of the address bar. Then click on the little black arrow on the dropdown and then on 'More Information'. Click on 'Permissions' and scroll down to 'Load Images'. Here you unckeck 'Use Default' and check 'Allow'.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, would you please take a look at this article :

Fix problems that cause images not to show

Thank You for your reply. I clicked on the "i" etc, but the Load Image box under Permissions will not stay unchecked. I also noted that the "i" tells me that the connection is not secure. I also tried the link you suggested but no help there either. I also tried turning my AVG-AntiVirus OFF to see if that made a difference - no change.

Any other thoughts appreciated.

Just to make sure : Would you check this : Page Info => Media Is 'Block Images' unchecked  ?

Then, would you please try this :

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked) Type in the search bar network.http and look for the preference :

network.http.sendRefererHeader

and make sure its value is set to 2

Then close and restart Firefox.

Does that work  ?

Note that the missing images on localsyr are background images that are affected by the color settings. You can check that via the right-click context menu in the Inspector.

Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Options/Preferences -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Colors: "Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above"

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Looks that Tracking Protection can block these images.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. Firefox shows a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection, click the shield icon for more information.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"

network.http.sendRefererHeader was already set at 2.

I started thinking about Firefox add-ons . I disabled all of them and images showed up on "localsyr.com" . After re-enabling them 1 @ a time, I found that "DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials was the culprit . I find it interesting however, that I have been using the above add-on quite a while and the problem only showed up on the last 2 editions of Firefox which is my default browser. Oh well ......

Thanks again for your help
