Firefox not opening links from other apps

Links opened from outside apps show a pop up on the screen saying that a tab has been opened in Firefox, but when I follow the popup, there is no tab opened for that. For example, going into the google play store page for the Firefox Browser, clicking on the link for patch notes, a pop-up notification tells me that the tab is opened, but when the tab is selected, there is no tab opened.

I am also having another problem, which may be unrelated and which I will post about in another thread. Whenever I put text into the address/search bar and hit enter to search, the search is not performed. The page stays where it is. The address bar does work for web addresses. Default search engine set to Google.

Okay, let's focus on the first issue. It sounds like tab queueing is enabled. This is a feature that prevents links from immediately opening in Firefox when you tap them.

Could you test with that feature disabled to see whether the links open? Then we could blame something about the queueing feature for the problem. See: Open links in the background for later viewing with Firefox for Android.

If you still have the same problem, then hmm, why can't Firefox open those links?

Turning off Tab Queue solved the problem (and seems to have cleared up the search bar problem as well).

Disappointed to lose the Tab Queue feature - it's lovely - but if it doesn't work then it doesn't work.
