I normally have TB set to check for updates and allow me to choose to install them. This has in past releases broken some add-ons that are important to me; either because the developer hasn't caught up or has given up maintaining it/them.

I see from the Addons compatibility checker that a couple of them, specifically QNote and ImportExportTools NG are flagged as currently incompatible with 128, and if these stop working before being updated, I will endure serious problems, especially with ImportExportTools, which I use to save and archive critical correspondence.

I would therefore like to be able to turn off update checking of any sort, so that my current version of TB and relevant add-ons continue to work. When the compatibility checks tell me that the add-ons are now updated to 128 (and upwards) compatibility, then I can take off the update check block and carry on with updating. That is, until this particular problem recurs.

I imagine this is something in config, but it would help and save me time if anyone could advise me.

Last I heard the update rate for existing installations was set to zero. the only ones getting the new version being those that downloaded it.

BTW I have no idea what that image has to do with what you wrote. Did you perhaps post the wrong file?

I do not rely on the computer to make decisions for me, I look at the data and facts myself like this https://github.com/thunderbird/import-export-tools-ng/issues/600 SO the import export tools update is imminent.

this qnote has a similar issue https://github.com/mlazdans/qnote/issues/54 without a response from the author in the whole 19 hour since the issue was raised. You might want to follow that issue as it is raised where it might get a response.

Note++ which qnote purports to expand the feature set of is compatible with V128. Is it some expanded feature you need or an addon that works?

Note there is NO opt-out of Thunderbird update checking.
