In my Thunderbird e-mail, there used to be a little window where I could type the name of a sender or a subject & my e-mail would be searched for that sender or that subject. It suddenly disappeared & I can't find anything in my e-mail. All the "help" stuff on line concerns "global search". I don't need "global search". I need to be able to search my own e-mail

Thank you!

Maybe you are looking for the Quick Filter. Right click the toolbar and select Customize. Find Quick Filter in the dialog box and drag it back into place. You can click restore Default Set but if you have added anything new it will be taken off and you will have to drag it back to the toolbar.

Thank you for both possible solutions! The second one may well have worked too, but I was not computer savvy enough to understand all the directions. I can now search my messages once again!
