When I try to send a message, reply, or reply to all, TB acknowledges that it is sending the message, but it never is sent and when it tries to put it in the Sent Folder, TB says it has stopped responding. If I try to open the Sent Folder to see if the message was sent, after restarting TB, I once again am told TB has stopped responding, ditto if I right click on the Sent Folder and try to do any of the functions listed there. I really need help. I have POP3 account on ATT Uverse. It was working just fine and now has stopped working.

Clicking on Repair in the properties only results in the same response, "Sent Properties is not responding". And of course I have to end the process and restart Thunderbird.

I started I safe mode and was able to repair the folder, but not completely. When running Windows normally, I can now open the folder and examine it's contents. The major issue seems to be that I can't send an email. The symptoms are: After composing an email in "Write" mode, when I click "Send", I get a message in the status bar of the module that says "Assembling mail information...". Then I sit and wait, (3 minutes last time). Tired of waiting I click the red "X" in upper corner of the module. I then get a message that says, "Thunderbird is sending an email, do you want to close?" I click no and in the status bar of the Write module I get a message that says, "Mail sent successfully." At this point, the "Write" window doesn't close and the email does not appear in the sent folder, I guess indicating it was never sent. This is the real problem, I can't send email from Thunderbird.
