Dear Anyone.

From May 4th, I've been unable to read Hotmail E-mails in Firefox, I've had to download Google Chrome just to read E-mails (yuck!) Pre-May 4th, everything was fine. Now, I get the page frame, by which I mean the part that says Hotmail up the top, my list of Email sub-folders down the left-hand side and the Microsoft text along the bottom. The central area, which should contain the text of the actual E-mai (and graphics of course if there are any) is blank. I've tried clearing cache/history, deleting cookies, everything like that, no joy.

What has been the sudden change in Hotmail that has caused this? It is NOT a change in Firefox as I have not changed my version and it worked perfectly up till today, May 4th.

Yours puzzledly

By any chance, did you update your Foxit Reader this morning? If so, please read this thread:

Dear Silkphoenix.

That is a piece of lateral thinking so good it's almost psychic! For the moment - because it's midnight here and I can't be bothered hunting for older versions - I've just uninstalled Foxit Reader. And immediatley Hotmail reappeared like it had never been away!

Y'know, at the risk of being yelled at, I'm betting you're a lady. I can't see a guy ever coming up with something needing that level of intuition! Dunno how you made the connection in the first place - but for me, that's on the Marie Curie level.

Well done - and thanks again!

Yours respectfully

Brilliant. Thank you silkphoenix, would have taken me forever to find that particular problem. :-)

But, (mostly if anybody else is reading this thread..) I didn't need to uninstall Foxit or revert to an earlier version, I just disabled the plug-in and my hotmail then worked fine. Didn't even need to restart Firefox, so it's easy enough to disable/re-enable the plug-in when I want to use hotmail. No prob.
