unable to send message via thunderbird

Dear experts.

For some reason, my thunderbird that I have been using for the past 1 year suddenly stopped receiving messages.

At the bottom left of the thunderbird, I can see that it says "Downloading message 1 of 37..." Within a few seconds, it says, "No Messages to download"

I have browse through the forums and did the followings;

1. Successfully login to my web email server and managed to receive and send emails without problem 2. Tried turning off firewall, uninstall antivirus and even change to a new antivirus but it still cannot receive email. 3. Tried restarting thunderbird in safemode 4. Tried to boot in safemode with network but realise that no internet connection is available, which means cannot receive email too.

Ok. For some reason, after not receiving any message for a few days, my thunderbird suddenly received 30+ messages.

Ermm.. So I would like to know to ensure it can work flawlessly like before?

I did not tweak any security settings (firewall/antivirus) today and am just doing my normal stuffs when I receive all the messages.

I would contact your provider for the most current server settings. Most reliable providers stopped using port 25 for security reasons long ago.

As for reliability, that is a question for your provider. Thunderbird is software running on your computer. You changed nothing there and it stopped and started working.
