Firefox v.29.0.1 loads webpages slowly. When I visit a website it loads information for that page very slowly. (ex. msn.com, irs.gov) There is a small box in the lower left corner stating that it is waiting for----. Then it begins transferring data needed to render the page. Sometimes the page does not render correctly. I have tried resetting FF but that did not work. Is there a setting that was changed when FF updated to v29. Anyone else have this issue?

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

This did not fix the issue. The browser loads any transferred information from sites and slows down the visited page from becoming fully accessible until all transferring information is completed. It is as if each bit of information is being scanned. Could this be that a setting in my antivirus software has been changed? I noticed the same thing in IE. This only happens on a system that I have that is still using XP operating system. It only just started to happen though.
