When I open a new tab, it goes to AOL page instead of showing history (like it used to).

AOL used to be my home page, but when I clicked on a new tab, the new page would show my recent browsing history in little windows. Now when I click on the + to ope a new tab, it automatically goes to AOL. I removed AOL from my computer, but it still does this. How do I stop this from hapening and get the old format back?

You can reset the browser.newtab.url on the about:config page.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar

You can also use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
