Firefox will not log in to URL: secure.jpmorgan.co.uk/login. 'Request rejected'. How do I overcome this?

I have just begun to use Firefox and when loading some bookmarks of sites I will want to use I typed the URL "secure.jpmorgan.co.uk/login" in the address bar, but it would not load and "Request rejected" appeared above. I can find no option to override this prohibition, which doesn't seem sensible, being a large financial company.

Could this be a problem with a saved login? For example, did you ever ask Firefox to save the password for the site, or do you use any extensions that fill in logins?

If that is not a factor, try this general advice:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

As a footnote to that, regarding "While viewing a page on the site" could be a related domain such as: https://www.jpmorgan.com/pages/jpmorgan/emea/uk/home

Oops, sorry, that's not correct, I got redirected to the .com site. Never mind on that URL.

Thank you very much. Your solution (2) worked, rather to my surprise as I had not previously visited any jpmorgan pages via Firefox. I deleted their cookies (consisting of my 2 or 3 unsuccessful tries to access 'secure.jpm') via their UK Home page as directed. After this, the website loaded. Your clear guide as to how to access these saved cache and cookie files is appreciated, in case of future problems.
