This doesn't accomplish what I want. When I enter an address in the address bar I only want suggestions of sites that I have typed in the bar. I don't want suggestions of sites that I visited by clicking on from another site or from my bookmarks. If I follow your instruction the closest I can get is keeping the address bar blank. Then I have to type in my favorite sites every time instead of being able to scroll down to them in the address bar.

You can set the pref browser.urlbar.default.behavior to 33 (visited+typed) or 49 (match url+visited+typed) on the about:config page.

I don't see pref browser.urlbar.default.behavior on the about:config page. I think that's for 3.5 but I am running 3.6.14. I sure there is something comparable on 3.6 but I'm not smart enough to figure out what it is.
