I have tried every solution that is on support to get rid of robot head with red eyes . Have went in to about config , changed dev tool remote to false and it gets turned back on everytime .Have uninstalled firefox ,nothing works . I would love to keep the browser but if this cant be fixed I have no choice but to uninstall for good.

You can hover the robot icon on the location bar and check what reason is shown in the tooltip (DevTools,Marionette,RemoteAgent). If the reason is DevTools then check on the about:config page whether these prefs have their default value (i.e. are not bold).

  • devtools.chrome.enabled (false)
  • devtools.debugger.prompt (true)
  • devtools.debugger.remote-enabled (false)

You can check if you have a user.js file in the profile folder that sets the prefs:

  • user.js => remote debugging:
    devtools.debugger.remote-enabled = true
    devtools.debugger.prompt = false
  • /questions/1351089 Firefox address bar under remote control.
