I currently use Outlook as an e-mail client & wish to change to Thunderbird. However when I try to get set-up & after entering my e-mail address & password for that e-mail server, I get an error message saying the following; "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." The problem is that my user name & password are correct! Please advise.

Who is your email service provider? Get the right configuration information from your provider then use the Manual Config link in Thunderbird to manually enter those settings. Sometimes this is the only way especially for personalized (custom) domains.

I'm having almost the same exact problem as well; except, I already HAVE Thunderbird (version 91.8.0, 64-bit) and have other mail accounts on there that work fine. They are Gmail accounts, but I am having the most annoying problem with only one of them----one which USED to work fine. I had to delete it, but now when I try to add it back, it gives me the same error message, AND... I have tried EVERY SINGLE "fix" that I could find (yes, including manual configuration), but to no avail. FYI: ALL the settings ARE correct, and are the same settings for my other Gmail accounts that work fine.

HELP!
