Can't view body of email after accepting an attached .ics event invitation

Whenever I receive an email that includes an .ics invitation to an event, a blue bar at the top is visible that reads "This message contains an invitation to an event." When I click the button to accept the invitation, it gets automatically added to my calendar without issue.

However, I'm then unable to view the body of the email, as it only shows the words "Event Invitation" along with the title and time frame of the event. At this point, the blue bar at the top reads "The event has been added to your calendar" and has a button which opens the event details.

My question is, how do I view the body at this point? I initially assumed there's an option somewhere to display it instead of the event summary, but after poking around every menu I can think of, I can't find it.

My current workaround is to open a reply to the email or look at the HTML source, both of which include the original contents in full.

Thank you sfhowes! I've posted this solution there, but I'll post it here as well.

This will let you toggle between the event summary and email body. Caused by a bug with Lightning: Bug 1283683 - When ICS attached, Lightning enabled ONLY event is visible not the email
