We would like to manage all upgrades for FireFox and do NOT want to manually visit user computers to change settings. we have too many employees. our intent is to use a 3rd party app to push the latest FireFox when we choose to. what URL can we block to ensure users cannot upgrade - so we do not get users beyond the version we incrementally want them to have installed?

You can consider to use lockPref() to set all update prefs that have an URL to an empty sting and also make sure that the Mozilla maintenance Service isn't installed.
