when we receive e-mails with whole e-mail attached it will show that there is attachment but will not have .eml extension and will not open. need help. we are using Thunderbird 45.3.0 and have LookOut installed in Extensions.

So what name, typically, do you see on one of these attachments, if it isn't ".eml"?

You would hope that your LookOut addon would deal with at least the winmail.dat component. Does that bit work for you?

Have you tried saving the extensionless attachment as a file and then investigating it with a good text editor? Also, you could make a copy and add an .eml extension to its name to see if Thunderbird can then read it, but I fear it may be some alternative format that Thunderbird doesn't know. Given that it is from an Outlook user, it may be a .msg file. I really don't know what Thunderbird would do with one of those.

If this is a regular correspondent, they might be open to helping you out by setting their email client to use html instead of the proprietary winmail.dat/rtf format.
