Following situation: You are on a page (for example a google search results page with different links) and click on a link. Firefox takes some time to load that page and it you can still see the page you were originally on on. Now while it is loading you see another link that you are interested in as well. It used to be possible to right click that link and open it in a new tab, while the other page is still being loaded. Now this is not possible anymore, which is quite upsetting because it is essential for my workflow.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
