I have Norton Internet Security Version 20.2.0.19, and this is the newest version available. No matter how I set the Password Vault, (Turn off the Browser's Password Manager - Yes - No - Ask Me) it always turns OFF the password manager in Firefox... (Right now the NIS Password Vault is set to NO) and (Firefox version 17.0.1) The password manager in Firefox works as it should until I open the password vault in NIS, and when I open it, the password manager in Firefox is turned off. When I close the password vault in NIS, I can open the options in Firefox and turn the password manager back on in Firefox, and it works as it should until I use the password vault in NIS. Symantec doesn't seem to understand the problem.

Sounds like the NIS Password Vault is overriding the Firefox Password Manager. IOW, you can't have them both turned on at the same time.

If I may ask, why do you want them both working at the same time?

I don't need them working at the same time, but the wife and I use the password manager in Firefox for every day web sites that security is not that big of thing for us, but when it comes to other sites that we want way more secure, we use the NIS encrypted Password Vault. So when it's time to pay the bills, I unlock the Password Vault, and go to the sites needed, and then lock the Vault up again. It's the only time we use the Vault.. And I think you are right about not working at the same time, but when NIS has the settings that are, Ask Me, No, Yes, about turning off the browsers password manager you would think that it wouldn't just turn them off regardless..
