Using a Droid and a Nexus One, addons appear and disappear from the addon list when they are installed from the market and if I install an xpi file using file://sdcard they don't ever appear. Anyone else seeing this issue? Even the default addons disappear after reboot from the addon list.

If you have moved Firefox to your SD card, then add-ons might fail to work because of a bug in Firefox 4 beta 5. That bug will be fixed in the next release of Firefox for Android: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637487

There's also another bug that may cause add-ons to be disabled at random times. We're still working on that bug; for details, see: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=638848
