Firefox crashes

Every time I open Firefox, it crashes before it loads a web page. I moved Firefox from my Applications folder to the Trash folder and re-installed Firefox. The problem still occurs. I've tried to launch Firefox in safe mode, but it will not open. It crashes sooner when I try that than it does in the normal mode.
