I keep losing bookmarks and it won't restore. They are old bookmarks and I haven't updated FF.

Used FF for years with no problem. Went to a folder in my bookmarks and several were missing. Tried to restore but FF would not restore. Today more bookmarks are missing and now they are also missing from other folders. Have not upgraded or did anything different.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
