I am trying to import my profile from a crashed Windows 7 computer to a Windows 10 computer. I'm not sure which version of Thunderbird was operating on the old computer, but the full profile was recovered.

I followed the instructions for migrating the profile. I opened up Thunderbird to create a new default profile, then closed it without taking any other action. I then copied the contents of my old profile into the new profile folder in roaming/profiles. I checked to make sure the profiles.ini was pointed in the right direction. On opening Thunderbird again, nothing was imported, with the curious exception of the address book. I still received the default "Do you want to set up an email" startup message.

I then tried just copying the old profile folder to the roaming/profiles folder, with its old name, and redirected the profiles.ini path. Same result.

I then tried using the Profile Manager app to create a new profile and point it to the original profile, and again made sure that the profiles.ini was pointed in the right direction. Same result.

At this point I fell I have exhausted all the common sense options. Any help would be appreciated!
