Many users have been able to get the Google toolbar working in Firefox 5 by installing the extension below. Google needs to test their toolbar and change one line in their code to make the toolbar compatible. The extension below will add a "Compatibility" button to Add-ons > Extensions which you may need to click next to Google toolbar after you install the extension and re-start Firefox 5.

Just received word that Google will not be supporting the toolbar for Firefox 5 and beyond.

So, as to the original question posed in this thread, is there a way to import the Bookmarks from the Google toolbar into Firefox's Bookmark. While there is a way around the current toolbar problem I really want to abandon the toolbar before the next release of Firefox and jump through hoops again to make the toolbar work.
