My email program has not worked since 9/11/2021 when the new update was installed. I am unable to download new messages and it resets my connection to my email server on earthlink.net. I've tried every suggestion I've found online to fix it to no avail. This computer is on Windows 7. I was going to try backing out the update since it was working fine before the update but the Thunderbird uninstall wizard doesn't give me the option of just uninstalling the latest update - it indicates it will uninstall the entire program. Any ideas for fixing would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe this. I opened a window to my email server and started deleting unsolicited email. At some point, Thunderbird started downloading my email. So I guess there was a message it couldn't download and it was keeping it from downloading everything or something in it caused the reset or timeout of the server connection. Anyway, it's working now. Thanks anyway.
