I tried everything I could find in the Mozilla support pages: Refresh, Uninstall/Reinstall, deleting xulstore.json

Thanks FredMcD, but I tried deleting places.sqlite files, Places Maintenance, and again uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox (this time to an older version) but still not working.

The bookmarks you are trying to import, where are they from and how were they saved?

I can't do anything related to Bookmarks. I'm coming off of a complete OSX re-image. My Bookmarks list is completely blank. There are no Bookmarks. When I Import the Bookmarks that I had backed up (HTML) before the re-imaging, nothing happens. (I'm able to click Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import Bookmarks from HTML, then select my file > Open, but nothing happens). When I open a random website (like www.homedepot.com) and click Bookmarks > Bookmark This Page, nothing happens.

Is your history still working?

If not; Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Yes, history and bookmarks are not working. All are completely blank. I tried deleting places.sqlite several times, but no affect. The problem persists.
