The emails can be found using "search", which lists that they are in "Archive", but the Archive folder actually contains sent emails. How do I access my filed emails through the local folders again?

A few extra details:

Most of my mail was stored in sub-folders of a folder "New Folder".

When I look in the directory

~/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/cur

I see a listing that includes

-rw------- 1 penelope penelope 0 Jun 2 23:01 New Folders:2, -rw-rw-r-- 1 penelope penelope 2814 Sep 23 21:55 New Folders:2,.msf -rw-rw-r-- 1 penelope penelope 2793 Sep 1 16:38 New Folders.msf:2, -rw-rw-r-- 1 penelope penelope 2217 Sep 23 00:49 New Folders.msf:2,.msf drwxr-xr-x 4 penelope penelope 4096 Sep 22 23:35 New Folders.sbd drwx------ 7 penelope penelope 4096 Sep 1 16:38 New Folders.sbd:2, -rw-rw-r-- 1 penelope penelope 2438 Sep 23 10:07 New Folders.sbd:2,.msf drwxr-xr-x 54 penelope penelope 4096 Sep 23 21:55 New Folders.sbd:2,.sbd

The Thunderbird folders list as a folder with empty subdirectories "New Folders.sbd:2,".

It also lists as (empty) folders "New Folders:2," and "New Folders.msf:2,"
