Hi, run tb 31.4.0. I set some message filter and would like to run them with the option getting new mail. To make clear that i do not understand wrongly: to run them when tb checks for new mails. However that does not work, upon checkin new mail, filters are not applied. If i run themmanually everythink works fine. Any idea? thanks

First - check the filter is enabled. then check to see if this has occured : Filters at the top run first, so if another filter (one above it) has acted on an email and eg: moved it out of Inbox then subsequent filters will not be able to detect the email because it is not in the Inbox. So try moving the filter up to the top of the list.

then check the 'Filter log': Does it say the filter did run?

Please post an image of the filter, so we can see what conditions etc you have set.

There is only one rule. It is enabled. Log is on. BTW where do i find the log itself? In the error consol?

Tools > Message Filters click on 'Filter Log' button Make sure the option 'Enable the filter log' is selected.

If it is already selected then the log will be displayed below the 'Enable the filter log' option.

Please post image of filter OR type every entry and what you selected.

Log enabled but no log shown. Please find the images.

Ok that makes sense.

A Tag is something you apply to received mail.

New incoming mail to your Inbox will not have a Tag applied, so the filter will not pick up any mail. That explains why it is not working.

However, in the filter, if you selected the option to Apply filter when 'Manually Run' You could set emails with 'Later' tag and then manually run the filter to auto move all those emails to the folder as set out in the filter.

Ok i forget to say something else. I receive a mail. After reading it a assign a tag. Then it should stay in the inbox with that tag until new mail comes. Upon the new mail check filter should be applied. Actually it has been working and i think after the last update it was ok. So mail is tagged and should be moved when the next arrive.

No. The filter runs on new incoming mail and not on already received mail.

It will only run on previously received mail in Inbox if you run the filter manually and have that setting 'Manually run' selected in filter.

i see. Funny while i am very positive have had it working as i described. But i might be wrong. Is there however any automatization?

If you are tagging specific emails that can be identified by eg: Who it was from or Subject etc

then you could set up a filter eg:

subject contains specfic word

Perform this action Tag message 'Later Move message to folder on account

thank you very much for the help and effort. However i would like to ask you one more thing i have had just realized yesterday. Sometimes since two days i can be more precise though, the incoming new mail simply bypasses the inbox and goes to subfolder immediately. Interesting enough it is the subfolder that i used for the tagged mails. Obiously new mails are not tagged.
