In the past I have been able to download videos to my phone or SD card. Now when I click on a link to download the video plays immediately rather then downloading to be viewed later. I've tried resetting all defaults on my phone (A Galaxy S3) with no luck. Any thoughts?

You can long press on the video to download the file.
