What do you want someone other than you mail provider to do about that? As I said Thunderbird will delete whatever the IMAP server says delete. That is how IMAP works, not just in Thunderbird.

The only way I am aware of that stops that is to move the emails to local folders where the server does not have control.

Is you account IMAP or POP? If it is IMAP read this. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/glossary-terms-including-types-accounts#w_mail-accounts

Note the synchronize part and be aware the server is considered a canonical source if there is any conflict over settings. So if the server says delete upon reading that is what will happen.

I have a IMAP account. Messages keep on disappearing after about 14 days. Especially messages that I want to save, like ivoices etc.
