Firefox crashing constantly since kitkat update

Note 3 user, user of prior android devices, very familiar with Firefox - has always been my browser of choice for desktop or mobile

Since the kitkat update from Verizon, Firefox constantly crashes, won't load pages, wont play flash, even though I have the .apk installed (worked prior to update). Is there a fix coming? I'm forced to use dolphin since Firefox pretty much doesn't work at all anymore.
