Since Firefox update a few days ago, my outlook.com module in MSN does not display properly

more options

I have mymsn.com as my home page. One of the modules has always been my hotmail account, now called outlook.com (MSN's name for it). The module showed a series of the latest emails in the account without my having to actually access the account. I used to be able to see with a quick glance what new emails had come in and assess whether something needed immediate attention.

After the latest Firefox update this week (the last week in April, first week in May of 2014), the module does not appear as it used to. I can see an envelope that shows whether the email has been read or not, then no title just a big blank space and then when it was received. I want it to be able to show the title too, like it has always done. Does anyone know what this last update did to change the display of the module? Any suggestions as to how to get it back?

You can try two things:

1) You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

2) If the above doesn't work, can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

  • Windows/Mac: Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
  • Linux: Run firefox -safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

I have tried the two solutions above and they make no difference, but if I switch to the IE tab in FF the MSN email module displays correctly.- At the moment it is only an add on that offers any solution, not an add on causing the problem, although it is not ideal.

Clearly this is a problem with the new Firefox 29.0 and Mozilla must fix it rather than users looking for something wrong with add ons or other settings. Whenever new versions of software are released inevetibly (it seems) there will be some problems but it is up to the organisation issuing the software to correct these problemts. I am using a Laptop 64bit with Windows 7.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this issue? I have this same issue since the upgrade this morning. Thanks

I AGREE, IT'S A MOZILLA PROBLEM! I NOW HAVE V32 AND IT'S NO BETTER! IF I REVERT TO AN EARLIER VERSION, MY EMAILS WORK SO, COMMON SENSE WOULD DICTATE, THAT, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE NEWEST VERSIONS OF FIREFOX.

FIX THE PROBLEM - STOP TELLING US TO CLEAR THE CACHE AND ALL OF THE OTHER STUPID FIXES ****THEY DON'T WORK****

LET'S SEE... V28: WORKS FINE, V32: SUCKS (AGAIN, COMMON SENSE...)

DUH??

Yes, to WinSum66. It hasn't been fixed and it is up to Mozilla/MS to do so. It's not a big problem for me, but it is one of a number of irritations that I could do without.
