I installed AVG Anti-Virus Free 2013 and it installed AVG SiteSafety plugin 14.2.0.1. This little plugin took over my homepage and I had to reset it. How do I permanently delete this plugin and not just disable it?

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 running Windows XP SP3. I use Mozilla Firefox 19.0.2 as my browser.

Such plugins are usually found via a registry scan.

You can set the plugin.expose_full_path pref to true on the about:config page to see the full path of enabled plugins on the about:plugins page.

It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers via the navigator.plugins object, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.

See "Manually uninstalling a plugin":
