Unable to get focus in location bar etc

Every day or so I suddenly find that if I click in a Firefox text entry box (location bar, search bar, help search bar), nothing happens. I can't enter, edit or delete any text. The only remedy is to close FF, and then re-open again. I can't find any trace of anyone else suffering the same problem!

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
