How do I get this to talk to a HP Deskjet 1050 Printer but the Printer program says it will not install Should I try to install Windows 7?

Printer is HewlettPackard Deskje t 1050 All-in-One 1510 series. In attempting to install the printer software received an error message saying it could not be installed on this operating system.

The error message said to install it on one of the following:

Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or better (32 bit only).

Windows Vista

or Windows 7.
