When I compose and type an email, everything I type is underlined. I don't remember this happening before. I recently updated to Firefox 5. I wish that I didn't. I have other problems with the update. I would like to go back to 4.

I don't have any other details. Just the underlining.

Sounds that you have the spell checker enabled, but do not have a dictionary installed and selected.

You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.
You can open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one.
Make sure that [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu is check-marked.
You can enable or disable spell checking globally:

  • Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Browsing: "Check my spelling as I type"
