When microsoft updates and reboots I lose all tabs that were open and I cannot restore them.

However, for open tabs, you should be able to use session restore. Which version of Firefox do you have? This article should have information for both 3.6 and 4.0, as applicable: Session Restore | How to | Firefox Help.
