Since upgrading to new version of Firefox I can't open any downloads from the window nor can I find them in the downloads file. There isn't even the option available to "open" the file in the window. It's there but not accessible. SSome things I must save to disk then transfer to my computer. Very annoying. HELP ! I seen this is a common problem when I goggled this. Must be a bug

Go to the Plugins Check page and update where necessary. Then try again.

Normally though, after a download completes, all you need to do is to right click it and choose "Open Containing Folder", or "Open File Location".

If the problem persists, please to the following to disable AV scanning:

  1. In the location bar at the top where you normally type in a search term, type about:config and hit Enter.

  2. In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone

  3. Double click it to change the setting from True to False.

  4. Close Firefox and restart it again. Then download a file from somewhere to test it.
