Firefox 4 is incompatible with my Trend Micro Security Titanium Internet Security. I will have to use either I.E. or go back to Firefox 3.6. For how long will 3.6 be supported?

Trend advise me that I will have to wait until they bring out a new version that is compatible with Firefox 4. Meantime the virus checker will work, but not the web threat protection. I know this is NOT good enough, but I really don't want to have to pay for another virus checker before my subscription runs out. So if I go back to Firefox 3.6 will it have security issues?

No. Firefox 3.6.17 will continue to be supported for a while yet. Usually Mozilla announces at least 3 months in advance of when support for a particular version will be terminated.

To revert to 3.6.17, do the following.

Go to Download Firefox v3.6.17 and download it to the desktop.

Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).

Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.

Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

After you complete the installation, go to the Plugins Check page and update those where necessary.

I can now confirm that the Method here:

http://esupport.trendmicro.com/solution/en-US/1058585.aspx%EF%BB%BF

Works. It successfully installed the Trend Micro Toolbar on my Firefox Version which is Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1

I am using Windows 7 HP (Home Premium) 64-bit and it still works!
