Try and press CTRL, ALT, and DELETE on your keyboard all at the same time to launch Task Manager. Click on the Processes Tab and scroll down the list until you see firefox.exe. Click on it and it will turn blue, then click on End Process at the bottom. You should now be able to launch Firefox.

it's not there that was the first thing i tried. but thank you for replying  ;)

That's strange is plugin-container.exe there? This is also part of Firefox. This could cause the problem.

that wan't there.. however i did find the firefox.exe file however i closed it and i still get the error message?

i think this error is because the person that originally uninstalled this file must have deleted my old profiles, passwords, etc. trying to cover his tracks..

Are you an administrator on that PC? Firefox could be running as a different user on that PC. If your not an Administrator give your PC a restart and see what happens.

That error should not appear because of a problem with profiles. By any chance is the profile manager still running on that PC? That may have something to do with your problem. If you reboot and the problem persists then we have an interesting problem.

yes i am the administrator on my laptop..

i don't know how to see if the profile manager is still running on the laptop?

i've reboot'd several times and still receive the error?

is there something I need to do other than Add/Remove programs to remove the program to re-install because that is how I got it back to even get the error messages..

Profile folder is unavailable

If Firefox cannot find the profile folder, it will report that the profile is in use or already running. This can happen if you manually delete, rename or move the profile folder; if you run Firefox from removable media; or if the profile folder is stored on a network drive. In such cases, you should restore the Firefox profile folder to its original name and location.
