I downloaded FF 4.0 and it uninstalled my earlier version. 4.0 won't work with my OS. How can I find a download for my earlier version?

I use a Mac with OS 10.4.11. I received a prompt to download Firefox 4.0 which I did. I installed it and when I did, it uninstalled my earlier version of Firefox. Then when I tried to run the new version 4.0, I got a message stating that the new version wont work with 10.4.11 .

I can't find a way to download my earlier version. where can I find it. Thank you.

Firefox 4 is not longer available for older Macs such as the one you have. You can downgrade to Firefox 3.6 from this page. If you would like to, you can download a different build of Firefox not made by Mozilla at http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/ but please be aware that for the latter option, the alternate build of Firefox is not supported here.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, Firefox 4 supports only Mac OS X 10.5 and above on Intel hardware. The system that you are currently using is no longer supported by Firefox (details can be found here).

You can revert back to previous version of Firefox by following these steps:

  1. Open the Applications folder.
  2. Drag the Firefox application to the Trash.
  3. Download and install Firefox 3.6 from here.
